The Ethics of Information is codified in the law as Copyright law, discussed before. The basic concept is that anyone who has written a phrase or created an idea deserves credit--an sometimes financial recompense--if their phrase or idea is used by someone else. The phrase or idea if referred to as "intellectual property." The use of the word "property" conveys the idea that taking a person's intellectual work without due credit being given is a form of theft.
