Information Studies - Newsgroups
Newsgroups are similar to listservs. But, instead of the discussion being emailed to you, the discussion is stored (archived is the technical term) and you can go look at it.
There are special newsgroup readers but these days the easiest way to access newsgroups is through the Web site, Deja.com:
