Pet Pals of Texas

"..provides support services for pets belonging to low-income pet owners with disabilities, the elderly, and terminally ill... Hopefully these services will allow the owners and their pets to stay together in a loving home instead of their pet's being relinquished to a shelter or animal control facility" (RPOA News, Fall 2003, 6).

Services Provided:

  • Dog walking
  • Litter box cleaning
  • "Light" grooming
  • Aquarium cleaning
  • Cage cleaning
  • Pet transportation
  • Deliver food and supplies (when available)
  • Temporary foster care
  • Adoption placement (upon death or institutionalization of client)

Ways to help:

  • Volunteer
  • Give money
  • Help locate those in need
  • Donate pet food or supplies (flea & tick control products, cat litter, shampoos, collars and leashes, pet carriers, crates, brushes, etc.)
  • Help with outreach to the community
  • Administrative assistance
