"..provides support services for pets belonging to low-income pet owners with disabilities, the elderly, and terminally ill... Hopefully these services will allow the owners and their pets to stay together in a loving home instead of their pet's being relinquished to a shelter or animal control facility" (RPOA News, Fall 2003, 6).
Services Provided:
- Dog walking
- Litter box cleaning
- "Light" grooming
- Aquarium cleaning
- Cage cleaning
- Pet transportation
- Deliver food and supplies (when available)
- Temporary foster care
- Adoption placement (upon death or institutionalization of client)
Ways to help:
- Volunteer
- Give money
- Help locate those in need
- Donate pet food or supplies (flea & tick control products, cat litter, shampoos, collars and leashes, pet carriers, crates, brushes, etc.)
- Help with outreach to the community
- Administrative assistance
